Cleaning blocked printing heads

We recommend to use your dye sublimation printer as often as possible. As with any inkjet printer the liquid ink can dry and block in the printing heads if the printer is left unused for a period of time.

If your printing heads are blocked they can be cleaned using the printers maintenance section within the printer driver. Most printers have two cleaning options; Head Cleaning and Power Cleaning (sometimes displayed as Power Ink Flushing).

  • Head  cleaning is the first option to attempt to clear the blockage; this is a standard cleaning cycle and is the first thing to try.
  • Power Clean or Power Ink Flushing is the second option to attempt; this is a more powerful cleaning cycle, this does use more ink but is excellent for stubborn blockages.
